Mike Genung of Blazing Grace, a ministry to persons who struggle with sex and porn addiction, has released his second book, 100 Days on the Road to Grace; a Devotional for the Sexually Broken. The book has 100 chapters, each which are suitable for a daily devotional.
100 Days begins by guiding the reader through the specific action steps he needs to take to break the grip of porn addiction, and then delves into the heart and emotional issues that many grapple with during the recovery process. Porn addiction deeply affects every area of a persons life, especially the marriage relationship. The book moves beyond a narrow focus on providing coping methods for freedom from sex addiction alone, and guides the reader into looking at areas that need healing in many other areas.
This includes dealing with taking full responsibility for ones actions, anger, forgiveness issues, pride and humility, breaking the strongholds of selfishness and self-absorption, healing marriage and family relationships, and reviving the relationship with God. A mans wife and children are severely impacted by porn addiction; if a man breaks free from porn addiction but doesn’t right the relationships with his family, the marriage can still end up in divorce.
We receive emails all the time from wives whose Christian husbands wont give up their porn habit, says Genung. This is a serious problem that is destroying families.
